MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee was never seriously pressure in an easy 30-point victory in the season opener at the Klotsche Center.
Kyle Kelm scored 15 points as the Panthers romped past the University of Mary, a Division II school from North Dakota, 76-46. Jordan Aaron had a strong first game with a dozen points and seven assists. Milwaukee went on a 12-2 run late in the first half to put the game out of reach. The Panthers led at intermission, 34-19.

Suddenly, the Indiana Hoosiers are playing late-season games which mean something. School officials are expecting one of the biggest crowds of the season when Wisconsin comes to town today. The improving Hoosiers could actually ease into the Big Ten Conference Championship game if things fall into place, despite a 2-3 conference record and a 4-5 mark overall. Four of the Hoosiers’ five losses have come by a combined 10 points. Wisconsin comes in 6-3 and only needs to win this one to put Indiana out of the playoff picture. The Badgers can clinch a second straight berth in the conference title game with a victory. Montee Ball needs five touchdowns to break the all-time career record of 78, set by Travis Prentice. Kickoff is at 11 a.m. today, the game televised on ESPN2.
