Minnesota Sports-- The University of Minnesota men's basketball team routed American University 72-44 in the Golden Gophers season opener Friday at Williams Arena.
MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota men's basketball team routed American University 72-36 in the Golden Gophers season opener Friday at Williams Arena.
In front of a crowd of over 10,000 the Golden Gophers led at halftime 44-14. Leading the U in scoring was Austin Hollins with 20 points while Rodney Williams had 16 points. Elliott Eliason had a team-high nine rebounds.
No one for the Eagles for more than nine points.
