BLACK EARTH - A Wisconsin company reports it is recalling about 99 pounds of beef tongue.
The recall involves cases of Black Earth Meats Natural Beef Tongues and Local Beef Tongues produced on October 8th, 11th, 17th and 18th. Black Earth Meat Market is recalling the products because it’s possible the tonsils weren’t completely removed.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture says the problem was found during a routine food safety inspection. Tonsils have to be removed to avoid exposing people to mad cow disease.
