BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - If you can move the ball on the ground this well, why pass? The University of Wisconsin rolled past the Indiana Hoosiers 62-14 Saturday.

The Badgers rushed for a school-record 564 yards led by Heisman hopeful Montee Ball. He split the Indiana defense for 198 yards on 27 carries and three touchdowns. Ball is now second all-time in the NCAA with 77 TDs. And, he wasn’t alone. James White added 161 yards and two scores and Melvin Gordon carried the ball eight times for 96 and a TD. The Badgers didn’t need to pass, so first-time starter Curt Phillips only went to the air seven times, completing one of them for a two-yard score.

Indiana came into its home game having won two straight and carrying an outside shot to make it to the Big Ten Championship game. The lopsided final verdict means Wisconsin will fill that slot for a second straight year. The 564 yards on the ground topped the Badgers previous school record of 551 set almost 40 years ago.
