Gophers tied by Seawolves 2-2

The No. 2 ranked University of Minnesota men's hockey team played to a 2-2 tie with Alaska-Anchorage Saturday at Sullivan Arena.

ANCHORAGE, Alk. - The University of Minnesota men's hockey team played to a 2-2 tie with Alaska-Anchorage Saturday at Sullivan Arena.

Minnesota needed goal by Erik Haula at the 13:31 mark of the third period to tie the score. The U's Seth Ambrose scored the game's first goal on the power play, the Golden Gophers's fifth power play goal of the weekend, before the Seawolves scored to tie the game at 1-1 with a goal by Jordan Kwas on the power play at the end of the first period. They scored again to start the third period with a goal by Alex Gellert.

Adam Wilcox made 21 saves in goal for the U. The Gophers outshot UAA again 33-23 but Anchorage goalie Rob Gunderson made 31 saves. The U is 6-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the WCHA.
