MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota men's basketball team raced out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back in knocking off Tennessee State last night 72-43 at Williams Arena.

Unbeaten Minnesota has not trailed in any of their three victories this season. Rodney Williams of Minneapolis paced the winning team with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. He was 7-for-9 shooting, taking his season total to 19 made shots on 24 attempts.

Tennessee State fell to 0-3 with the defeat. The Golden Gophers host 3-0 Richmond on Sunday night. The Spiders beat Hampton on Wednesday night.
