LA CROSSE - A La Crosse man will spend the rest of his life in prison for killing a woman who allegedly was trying to buy crack cocaine from him.
Izelia Golatt was sentenced yesterday after a jury convicted him on murder charges last September. Thirty-five year old Kristen Rodgers was found dead in a La Crosse alley last March.
Prosecutors say she had called Golatt for a drug buy. Although Rodgers did have cocaine in her system, an autopsy determined she had been strangled to death. Golatt’s attorney had argued he died of cocaine-induced heart failure and hypothermia.
