U women's hockey continues to roll, 9-1 winners over Minnesota State

MINNEAPOLIS - The No. 1 ranked University of Minnesota women's hockey team improved to 14-0-0 and 10-0-0 in the WCHA with a 9-1 blasting of Minnesota State Saturday afternoon in front of over 1,500 fans at Ridder Arena.

Scoring multple goals for the Golden Gopers were Megan Bozek and Amanda Kessel with two each. Multiple assists went to Kelly Terry with four, Amanda Kessel with three and Maryanne Menefee with two.

The game was actually tied 1-1 at the end of the first period before the U scored five goals in the second and four in the third.

Minnesota split time in goal with Noora Raty getting six saves and Amanda Leveille make four saves. The Gophers had 48 shots to the Mavericks' 11.
