Shotgun success
Saturday was the opener of the gun-deer season and many Pierce County hunters were successful in the early stages.

Zach Armstrong of Ellsworth was a successful hunter on opening day of the gun-deer season. Armstrong brought back an eight-point buck he shot around 6:45 a.m. Saturday while hunting near the Rush River.
