Marquette tops Trojans at Maui Invite, finish fifth
Wisconsin Sports-- Marquette’s Jamil Wilson came off the bench to hit 7-of-9 from the field and score 19 points in a 72-64 win over the USC Trojans. The eight-point decision gave the Golden Eagles fifth place in the Maui Invitational.

The eight-point decision gave the Golden Eagles fifth place in the Maui Invitational.
Marquette led by a dozen at half, but had to hold off a late-game rally by USC. The Trojans cut it to one point with 14 minutes left, but the Eagles came up with a run of their own and never let the edge get below a half-dozen points the rest of the way.
Gardner added a dozen points for the Golden Eagles, who are now 4-1. The win was Buzz Williams’ 100th at Marquette in his fifth year.
