PLUM CITY - Plum City's Jana Derricks will be interim head coach of the Plum City High School girls' basketball team for the next six weeks in place of John Pollock. Derricks won her first game 39-35 over Boyceville Thursday.

Pollock will be in the hospital for surgery and be out for the next six weeks of the season. Pollock and PCHS officials expect he will make a full recovery and then resume his duties.

Derricks, a former player for PC and UW-River Falls, has been the JV coach since the start of the season.

The Blue Devils won their first game and first Dunn-St. Croix Conference contest this season at home last night. Plum City made 25-of-30 free throws in the ballgame and PC Heather Von Holtum was a near-perfect 14-of-16.
