Gopher men's hockey team upset by UNO
Minnesota Sports-- The University of Minnesota men's hockey team was upended at home by Nebraska-Omaha 3-2 Friday.
MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota men's hockey team was upended at home by Nebraska-Omaha 3-2 Friday in front of nearly 10,000 fans at Mariucci Arena.
The No. 3 ranked Golden Gophers too a 2-1 lead after goals by Zach Budish and Christian Isaackson in the first period. But the Mavericks scored goals in the second and third period to get the win. UNO's John Archibald had a goal and two assists, including the game winner in the third period, to lead his team.
UNO outshot Minnesota 27-21. Gopher Goalie Adam Wilcox made 24 saves while winning goalie Josh Faulkner had 19 saves.
Both teams play again tonight at 7 p.m.
