Investigation underway of possible homicide in Milltown

MILLTOWN - Polk County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a possible homicide in Milltown.
Law enforcement officials were dispatched to the 100 block of Main Street East in the village of Milltown at about 1:21 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. A person was reported to have been seriously injured.
Upon arrival, officers entered the apartment and located an adult female who was deceased. Initial information indicates the woman may have been a victim of homicide.
According to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff's Department, the name of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin can be notified.
A male "person of interest" was taken into custody on initial charges of bail jumping (violation of bond), but charges related to the death are expected to be added. The alleged offender will not be named until the initial stage of the investigation has concluded. At this time there is no indication that other suspects may be involved.
The Polk County Sheriff's office is being assisted in this case by the Milltown and Luck Police Departments and the Polk County Medical Examiner's office.
