SAN ANTONIO - The Milwaukee Bucks collapsed in the fourth quarter last night, and lost at San Antonio 110-99.

The game was tied at 76 at the start of the final period, when the Spurs pulled away with a 16-to-2 run. Gary Neal and Tiago Splitter each scored six points during that run. Bucks’ coach Scott Skiles drew a technical foul at the start of the fourth quarter. He took issue with a goal-tending call against forward Larry Sanders. Milwaukee shot 55-percent in the first half, as they took a six-point lead to the locker room. But the Bucks only shot 30-percent after the intermission, and they only had six assists in the second half after getting 18 in the first half. Skiles said the Bucks moved the ball pretty well, but they couldn’t make their shots after the break. Monta Ellis led the Bucks with 21 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds. Neal and Tony Parker each scored 22 for San Antonio. Parker also had 10 assists, and Matt Bonner had a game-high 12 rebounds off the bench. The Spurs won their seventh game in their last eight and improved to 15-4. The Bucks have lost seven-of-nine, falling to 8-9. They’ll host Charlotte tomorrow night.

The UW-Milwaukee men’s basketball team got crushed by Buffalo last night, 72-52. It was the Panthers’ first home game in two-and-a-half weeks – and their record fell to 2-6 with their fifth straight loss. Javon McCrea had 31 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulls, as he hit 15-of-19 from the floor. Buffalo opened up a 15-point halftime lead with the help of a 17-7 run. Milwaukee trailed by as many as 27 in the second half, and were out-played on both ends of the floor. The Bulls had an astounding 46-to-19 rebounding edge, as they scored 58 points in the paint. And Buffalo outshot Milwaukee 56-to-34 percent. The Bulls improved to 3-7. Jordan Aaron scored 23 for UWM. The Panthers will host Northern Illinois tomorrow night. Tonight, the UW-Green Bay men play at Tennessee Tech.

The University of Wisconsin women's basketball have won back-to-back games for the first time season, after edging Marquette 71-68 last night in Madison. The game was tied at 63 with 5:43 left when the Badgers went on a 6-0 run. Marquette got to within one with 54 seconds to play. But freshman Nicole Bauman was fouled with 14 to go – and she hit two free throws to seal the victory for Wisconsin. Bauman scored a season-high 16 points, and Morgan Paige led the Badgers with 19. Arlesia Moore scored 15 for the Golden Eagles, who dropped to 4-3. Wisconsin is now 5-and-3. Marquette will play UW-Green Bay at home on Saturday, while the Badgers are off until next Monday when they host Florida Atlantic.

Central Michigan rallied in the second half at home yesterday to beat the UW-Green Bay women, 54-50. The Chippewas overcame an eight-point halftime deficit – and they shot 52-percent in the second half after hitting just 30-percent of their shots in the opening half. Central Michigan won despite committing 17 turnovers to Green Bay’s nine. Coach Kevin Borseth said the Phoenix did a great job hanging onto the ball – but they couldn’t find a way to close the game out. Crystal Bradford led all scorers with 23 for Central Michigan. And she had 13 rebounds, as the Chippewas improved to 3-4. Adrian Ritchie had 20 points and nine boards for Green Bay, which dropped to 5-2.
