DQ customers take out not only cones, but trees

Although the Ellsworth Dairy Queen might be known for Blizzards, it’s also home to Christmas trees during the holiday season, when thoughts are usually first turning to such storms.
And while ice-cream-cone fans probably won’t find pine cones on the lot in front of owner Josh Wolfgram’s W. Main Street business, plenty of pine trees are now there. For the fourth year, Wolfgram is selling the trees in addition to DQ sundaes, Brazier burgers and the newest attraction at his local store—Orange Julius treats.
“Our customers have been complimentary about the quality of the trees,” he said Wednesday, indicating he buys them from Northern Christmas Tree Growers in Merrill.
