The Cardinals lost was based on criteria as Osceola won the most matches 7-6 with one double forfeit. Prescott drops to 0-2 overall and in the Middle Border Conference.
Meanwhile Ellsworth stayed unbeaten overall in MBC dual meets with a 63-15 win at home Thursday over Baldwin-Woodville. The Blackhawks took a 9-3 lead after 285 pounds but the No. 2 ranked Panthers' Andrew Swanson picked up a pinfall at 106 in 1:05 followed up by a pair of forfeits received at 113 and 120 This put EHS ahead 21-9 and ahead to stay as they picked up wins from Jacob Fuchs at 126, Brad Cain at 132, Dan Langer at 138, Alec Yarwood at 152, Logan Kemmerer at 160, Gabe Frandsen at 170 and Hank Holdorf at 182. All of these wins by pinfalls.

Ellsworth's next dual meet is Thursday at home against unbeaten New Richmond. The Tigers improved to 2-0 in the MBC with a 57-21 win over Somerset Thursday. Match time is at 7 p.m.

This will be a busy weekend for tournaments for Pierce County's prep wrestling teams. Ellsworth will compete in the hypercompetitive Coon Rapids, Minn. Dual Tournament; No. 9 Spring Valley/Elmwood will be at the Dells Duals Classic at Chula Vista in Wisconsin Dells and Prescott will compete in the Shakopee, Minn. Invitational.
