U men and women's hockey teams both winners

At Colorado Springs, Col. the Golden Gopher men's team scored two third period goals to break a 2-2 tie and beat Colorado College 4-2 in front of over 7,000 fans at the World Arena. Zach Budish and Tom Serratore had the goals in the third period and Sam Warning scored twice for the U earlier in the game. Erik Haula had two assists and Gopher goalie Adam Wilcox made 24 saves. Minnesota is now 11-3-2 overall and 6-3-2 in the WCHA, two points out of first place.

Over in Bemidji, Minn. at the Sanford Center, the Minnesota women's team scored five unanswered goals in the second and third periods to beat Bemidji State 5-1. Five different players scored for the U and Megan Bozek and Meghan Lorence each had a goal and an assist while Amanda Kessel made three assists. Winning goalie Noora Raty made 26 saves as the No. 1 ranked Gophers improve to 19-0-0.
