WAUWATOSA - He doesn’t support same-day voter registration, but Governor Scott Walker’s office confirms he joined his son to a polling place last August to register and vote on the same day.

It was the Republican Senate primary vote. The Wauwatosa City Clerk’s office confirms Matt D. Walker registered to vote August 14th. The governor was with him at the time.

Speaking in California last month, Governor Walker said Wisconsin would be much better without same-day voter registration. He’s also said he would sign a bill ending the practice if the Legislature passes. He also says it wouldn’t be a priority for him. Democrats say ending same-day voter registration is a Republican effort to discourage voter turnout
