Ellsworth hoops teams take losses to Durand

Colton Berger sank 1 of 2 free throws with three seconds left to help Durand stay undefeated Friday night with a 72-71 victory in Ellsworth. Chrystian Kulow led EHS (2-5, 0-3 Middle Border) with 26 points and six rebounds. He made five three-pointers. Nick Taranto had 18 points in the loss. Ellsworth trailed 44-36 at halftime. Berger finished with 20 points.
The EHS girls team also stayed winless in Middle Border Conference play as they lost at Durand 46-19.
The Ellsworth girls are back in action Tuesday at home vs. Prescott and host St. Paul CHOF on Thursday. Ellsworth's boys team is at Prescott Thursday.
