PLUM CITY--It is definitely looking a lot like Christmas in Plum City, as well as at the Plum City Public Library!

In addition to all the usual holiday decorations, this year newly created decorations greeted incoming visitors. Some of the talent of Plum City entered the library’s first-ever Graham Cracker House Contest.

Participants were asked to transform everyday graham crackers into works of art. The library’s challenge was to construct a work of art using only edible items. The challenge was taken up and, after all was said and done, one house stood out above the rest.

Sherry Gilles was this year’s winner with a two-story creation with trees and the necessary snowman. Appreciation goes to all those who participated. The confections have enriched the library’s decorations!

Along with these delectable compositions, the library had a very special visitor. On Dec. 12, Santa made a rare visit to the library. Many a child enjoyed a bit of one-on-one time with Santa.

In between visiting with the jolly red elf, children let themselves go and “got into” their creations of different holiday decorations. Some even were kind enough to share their productions with Santa, which made him even jollier!

With Santa’s next visit just around the corner, the library would like to extend a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
