Letter from Rep. Petryk: The next two years...
To you, the people of West Central Wisconsin, I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for again granting me the distinct privilege of representing you in the 93rd State Assembly District.By: Rep. Warren Petryk , Pierce County Herald
To you, the people of West Central Wisconsin, I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for again granting me the distinct privilege of representing you in the 93rd State Assembly District. It has been a joy to meet so many wonderful new friends in new parts of the District during the campaign. Your support will allow me to continue my service and dedication to more responsible and more responsive delivery of State Government services and programs. Thank you to those of you who participated in our democratic process but voted for someone else in the election — I hope to earn your support.
The focus of my first term in the Assembly was eliminating our previously out-of-control deficit spending while creating a more robust job climate in our State so that we can provide more stable funding to Wisconsin’s excellent schools and universities, essential human services, and superb transportation system. My votes will continue to support our children, our Veterans, our business owners and job creators, our workers, and our most fragile and vulnerable citizens who need a sustainable safety net.
My first month since re-election has been extremely busy, travelling over 1,200 miles meeting with constituents and community leaders in Cleghorn, Ellsworth, Eau Claire, Menomonie, Maiden Rock, Plum City, Prescott, New Richmond and Arcadia (and many places in between). These journeys include: meetings with members and leaders of Area Chambers of Commerce; J.O.N.A.H.; Western WI Regional Electric Cooperatives; speaking and singing at area Veterans Day events; attending the opening of the new Western Wisconsin Visitors Center at the rest area just east of Menomonie with Governor Walker and Legislative Colleagues; St. Croix County Economic Development Corporation; the Pepin County Farm Management Club with State DATCP Secretary Brancel; and trips to Madison for office business. Coming up soon are meetings with: UW-Eau Claire and Chippewa Valley Technical Colleges administration in Eau Claire and River Falls; Ellsworth High School students; the Prescott City Council; Veterans Department Secretary John Scocos; and WI Army and Air National Guard Adjutant General Donald P. Dunbar.
The Assembly Inauguration will be Monday January 7th and will be televised on Wisconsin Eye. To begin my second term, I’ve once again been granted the great honor of singing “God Bless America” near the end of the ceremony.
It pleases me to announce that I have been appointed to six exciting Assembly Committees:
1. Veterans (Chairperson)
2. Workforce Development (Vice Chairperson)
3. Jobs, the Economy and Mining (member, previous Session)
4. Aging and Long Term Care (member, previous Session)
5. Natural Resources
6. Information Policy and Technology
The work begins now as I face our future with great optimism that we, as a determined, free, and talented people, will find creative solutions to the many challenges ahead of us. My goals will remain listening carefully to your ideas and concerns while again working closely with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in a spirit of collaboration, cooperation, and communication. Thank you, voters of Buffalo, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pepin, Pierce, and St. Croix Counties for granting me the honor of serving as your Representative. Looking forward to working for and with you in the upcoming years, I remain in your humble service.
Wishing you and your Families my best wishes of this Holiday Season…May your New Year be blessed with health, happiness and prosperity!
