A Hudson man was issued 15 theft citations by the Hudson Police Department for allegedly switching price stickers at Fleet Farm.
According to Det. Geoff Willems, Steven Wayne Tennant,42, 940 Chippewa Path, allegedly took price stickers from items in clearance bins, replaced them on bigger ticket items and then purchased the more expensive items for the lower price. The thefts took place over July, August and September.
The store became suspicious and by monitoring their surveillance tapes observed Tennant at the bins and going through checkouts at the store. Willems said the majority of the replacement stickers were for 89 cents and replaced the price tags on higher priced items, some valued at more than $200.
It is estimated that the thefts amounted to around $1,750. The fine for a theft citation is $303. Tennant faces a total fine of $4,545.
Willems noted that Fleet Farm, 1001 Industrial St., has a state of the art surveillance system and a strict policy when it comes to shoplifting and theft.
