Prescott City council member charged with child abuse
A Prescott City Council member was charged Monday in Pierce County Circuit Court with strangulation and suffocation, along with child abuse.
A Prescott City Council member was charged Monday in Pierce County Circuit Court with strangulation and suffocation, along with child abuse.
Jeremy R. Shanklin, 33, 1408 Pearl St. N., was also charged with misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct. His next court appearance is a 3 p.m., Jan. 8, 2013, preliminary hearing.
According to the criminal complaint:
Prescott police arrived on scene at 1408 Pearl St. N., around 6 p.m., Dec. 14, for a domestic dispute, which was reported to be physical.
Upon their arrival, they found an adult victim, with some red marks around her neck and on the front of her chest. She denied an ambulance request, but said one might be needed for the second victim, a teenager.
The adult victim alleged Shanklin beat the teenage victim up and kneed him in the face a couple of times, and he was bleeding from the face.
