PLUM CITY--A sand processing facility near Plum City has been sold.
Muskie Proppant purchased the facility along Hwy. 10 northwest of the village from Greg Bechel of Plum City. According to a statement released last week from Cy Ingraham, the company’s chief executive officer, they are working with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to secure permits and approvals needed to open the new facility.
Pierce County Zoning Administrator Jim Kleinhans said Wednesday he was aware a public hearing was held Tuesday on the company’s application for an air pollution control permit, but didn’t know the outcome. As long as the new ownership follows existing conditions put in place by the county, they should be okay regarding county permits, Kleinhans said.
The company is owned by an Oklahoma-based Gulfport Energy Corporation and a Connecticut hedge fund management firm called Wexford Capital.
