Bergquist plant closes after loaded magazine was found

The Bergquist Company, 1600 Orrin Road, Prescott, was temporarily closed for awhile Thursday, December 20, after a loaded handgun magazine was found.

The Bergquist Company, 1600 Orrin Road, Prescott, was temporarily closed for awhile Thursday, December 20, after a loaded handgun magazine was found inside the plant.

Prescott police were called to the plant at 11:30 a.m., for what was initially a suspicious activity complaint. A search by Prescott police and Pierce County Sheriff's deputies resulted in the finding of the magazine, which caused employees to be sent home as a precaution.

Police and deputies continued searching the plant and found no weapon and the plant reopened.

Chief Mike R. Bondarenko said at no time was there a danger to public safety.
