MADISON - Three-time Wisconsin Olympian Suzy Favor Hamilton says she knows the fallout is just beginning, after she admitted spending the last year as a high-priced call girl for a swank Las Vegas escort service.
The 44-year-old Favor Hamilton had spent years cultivating a wholesome image as a former Stevens Point and UW-Madison track star. And it earned her a number of endorsements, one of which has already disappeared. The Rock-and-Roll Marathon Series has cut ties with Favor Hamilton, after she worked on about five running events for that group.
This past summer, she disclosed that she had anxiety and depression for years. Now, she says the depression is what led her to live what she called an “exciting” double life which broke down recently when she started seeing a psychologist. Favor Hamilton says she’ll continue to get treatment, and let the chips fall where they may. She blew her cover by telling some clients her real name and her athletic accomplishments. And she believes she knows who went to The Smoking Gun Web site – which broke the news about her call girl experience yesterday. But Favor Hamilton said she would not name the person – or any of her clients. She said she rather suffer than be vindictive.
