County names new medical examiner

The Pierce County Board of Supervisors approved John Worsing as the new county medical examiner Tuesday.

Worsing starts December 30. He succeeds Sue Dzubay, who resigned the post after 16 years. Among her reasons were increasing conflict between on-call hours and her job as a nursing supervisor and emergency management coordinator at the River Falls Area Hospital, as well as home and family responsibilities.

She says she plans to serve as a deputy medical examiner under Worsing. She added the two will work closely together during the first year to make it a smooth transition.

Worsing has worked in the medical examiner’s office the last four years, with the last two as chief deputy. Worsing is also co-owner of Prairie Road Farms, LLC, located in Beldenville .

The board also approved a salary increase for Administrative Coordinator JoAnn Miller to $108,576, a 3.5 percent increase, effective Dec. 1.
