MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Bucks are not about to be sold any time soon. There’s been speculation that former Memphis Grizzlies’ owner Michael Heisley is interested in acquiring the team from Herb Kohl. But Heisley tells the Memphis Commercial Appeal, quote, “It’s a false rumor.”
The 77-year-old Kohl has talked for several years about selling the Bucks – but he says the buyer would have to commit to keeping the team in Milwaukee. Kohl has not talked lately about selling the Bucks. In fact, he has talked about devoting most of his time-and-energy to the team after he retires from the U.S. Senate right after the New Year.
Kohl has also said he would devote money to a new arena to replace the Bradley Center. More discussion about a new facility is expected to take place in 2013.
