Dayton to undergo back surgery over the holidays
Minnesota News-- Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton will be spending part of the holidays at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton will be spending part of the holidays at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
His office says the governor will undergo spinal surgery next Thursday on his lower back. Dayton is having the procedure to relieve a constriction in his spine and to fuse a vertebrae that is shifting out of alignment. Dayton will be hospitalized through New Year's Eve.
He's expected to work out of the Governor's Residence for a couple weeks during recovery. His staff is working to reschedule planned events.
