T-Wolves back in action tonight vs. Rockets

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Timberwolves return to the court tonight with a game against the red hot Houston Rockets.

Houston has won four games in a row, including a rout over Chicago last night in the Windy City. The T'Wolves, meanwhile, continue on their roller coaster season having lost three of their last four games. That dip came after the team had won six of its previous seven games.

The Wolves enter tonight's game with a 13-12 record, sitting in the seventh position in the NBA Western Conference. Houston is 15-12 and in the sixth spot. Tip-off tonight is set for 7 p.m. at the Target Center

Houston's James Harden had 26 points with six assists and five rebounds to fuel the Rockets in a 120-97 win over the Bulls in Chicago last night. Jeremy Lin added 20 points and 11 assists while Omer Asik scored 20 points with 18 boards. Chandler Parsons netted 23 points in the victory as Houston won its fourth straight game.

The NBA's marathon of games on Christmas Day went off without a hitch on Tuesday The Boston Celtics crushed the Nets in Brooklyn, 93-76, in the early game. The Lakers made New York area teams 0-for-2 on the day by getting past the Knicks in Los Angeles, 100-94. In the rematch of last year's NBA Finals, the Heat burned the Oklahoma City Thunder in Miami, 103-97. The Houston Rockets went into Chicago and blasted by the Bulls for a 120-97 victory. In the nightcap, the action went back to Los Angeles where the host Clippers won their 14th straight game by dropping the visiting Denver Nuggets, 112-100. The NBA season continues Wednesday with a near-full slate of 13 games on tap.
