Plenty of place winners for SVE, Prescott at Northern Badger
Prescott came away with five and Spring Valley/Elmwood had seven individual place winners from the Northern Badger Wrestling Tournament held at River Falls High School this weekend.

RIVER FALLS - Prescott came away with five and Spring Valley/Elmwood had seven individual place winners from the Northern Badger Wrestling Tournament held at River Falls High School this weekend.
Prescott's top finishers was Troy Urman, who was fifth at 145 pounds. Teammates Alex Stuhl at 126, Paul Hansen at 132, Nick Opdahl at 138 were all seventh and Sam Hoopingarner at 106 finished eighth. PHS finishes seventh in its division with 130.5 points, which was won by St. Croix Central with 223.5 points.
Spring Valley/Elmwood had a pair of third place finishers in Tyler Berg at 126 pounds along with Zach Newton at 145. Derek Huebel finished fourth at 113 while Logan Newton at 120 and and Jaron Turner at 152 both finished seventh. Jed Schlegel placed eighth at 138 and Trent Miller was 12th at 160.
No. 7 ranked SVE finished third in its division behind No. 9 Clear Lake and No. 6 Glenwood City. Clear Lake won the entire tournament amassing 285 points. GC scored 195 points and the Redbirds finished with 179.5 points. No. 10 Neillsville/Loyal/Greenwood won Division 1 with 203 points.
Spring Valley/Elmwood and Glenwood City will clash in a dual meet Thursday in Glenwood City. Prescott hosts Durand the same night in a dual meet.
