SIREN - Two-time Olympic women’s hockey player Molly Engstrom retired yesterday from the U.S. national team.
The former University of Wisconsin star was named the top defenseman in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, where her U.S. team finished second. Engstrom also played on the bronze-medal squad in the 2006 Games in Torino – and she helped Team USA win four world titles.
The 29-year-old Engstrom is from Siren in northwest Wisconsin. She said she feels fortunate to have lived out her dream – and she could not have done it without her family, friends, and quote, “incredible mentors” throughout her life.
