Ingrid Bjerstedt Rogers’ long-time support of the American Red Cross Bloodmobile is rooted in caring.
When the opportunity to be a bloodmobile donor presented itself, she just went, Bjerstedt Rogers said Thursday, remembering her first visits when the event used to be held at St. Francis Parish Hall in Ellsworth.
“I thought it was something I could do to help others,” she said.
Recently, the owner of Ingridware Pottery in Beldenville has increased her participation by working in the canteen whenever the bloodmobile’s presence doesn’t conflict with an art show she attends, she said. She’s especially been on duty in January and August, and plans to be again Monday, Jan. 14, for the return of the event to Zion Covenant Church in Ellsworth from noon to 6 p.m.
