Prescott grapplers down Durand 48-15
Prescott High School's wrestling team started the new year with a Middle Border Conference win over Durand Thursday by a 48-15 score.
PRESCOTT - Prescott High School's wrestling team started the new year with a Middle Border Conference win over Durand Thursday by a 48-15 score.
PHS broke a 15-15 tie in the meet with back-to-back-to-back pinfalls from Nick Opdahl at 138 pounds and Troy Urman at 145 and then Austin Tulip at 152. The 18 points made the score 33-15 and offset forfeits and losses PHS took in the upper weights. Freshman River Christenson won his first MBC match at 160 and clinched the meet for the Cardinals with a 8-5 win over Chas Meixner.
Also winning for the Cards was Sam Hoopingarner with a pin at 106 along with Lee Boles at 171 and Tyler Miller at 182, also by pinfall.
Prescott improves to 2-3 overall and in the MBC. They will wrestle in the Burnsville, Minn, tournament this weekend.
