Two contests for village, school posts in election in Pierce County

There will be just two races for all the village and school seats available throughout Pierce County in this spring’s election.

There will be just two races for all the village and school seats available throughout Pierce County in this spring’s election.

Information obtained after Wednesday’s deadline for the village and school candidacies shows only the Ellsworth Village Board and the Plum City School Board have contests.

A challenger, Curtis Betthauser, is seeking election to one of the three trustee seats on the local village board presently held by Neil Gulbranson, Kenny Manfred and Curt Wandmacher, who are all running for re-election. Todd Bjurquist, a challenger, is seeking election to one of two seats on the Plum City School Board presently held by Gail Fisher and Shirley Gilles, both of whom are running again.
