Six decades after being assumed by one family, the management of Snowball’s Bar has passed to another generation—again.

Luke Fleming and fiancé Jenna Strusz are among the latest members of the ownership team, with Fleming now representing the family whose involvement in the East Ellsworth business began in the 1950s, he said Thursday. Luke and Angie Nelson bring another family to the management mix.

“A friend talked me into it,” Nelson said about how he became a co-owner, referring to Fleming. Although both are pals with the same first name, they’ve managed to avoid confusion by taking roles which are mainly behind-the-scenes, they added.
