PGA hoping to start their season today after three bad days of weather

Wisconsin Sports
-- After three days of bad weather, the PGA will try again this morning to start the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.

HONOLULU, Hawaii - After three days of bad weather, the PGA will try again this morning to start the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.

Madison golfer Steve Stricker was about to tee off in the final group yesterday when 48-mile-an-hour winds forced play to be called off again. The early scores were erased, just like they were on Friday when the tournament was supposed to begin. They’ll try to play 36 holes today and 18 more tomorrow, and then call it a tournament.

Stricker is the defending champion at the Hyundai event, which is the kickoff to the PGA season. Pewaukee native Mark Wilson is also part of the field of 30, all of whom won PGA tournaments in 2012. Wilson’s tee time is at 11:40 this morning. Stricker is scheduled to go at 12:20.
