Meteorologist Tony Zaleski says there are ice storm warnings and freezing rain advisories in effect for a good chunk of northern Minnesota. Zaleski says there's also a blizzard warning in effect tonight and tomorrow in the far nothwest. MnDOT is recommending no unneccessary travel in northwestern Minnesota due to icy roads. No travel is advised on gravel roads in St.Louis County as the ice and rain caused them to freeze.

The Chisago County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating an Oakdale woman missing since December 9th. Twenty-seven-year-old Danielle Jelinek was last seen in South Chisago Lakes Township. A one-thousand-dollar reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Jelinek's disappearance. Her on-again/off-again boyfriend, 28-year-old Aaron Schnagl, has been called "a person of interest" in the case. He was arrested on drug charges following a search of his home after Jelinek's disappearance. Anyone with information is urged to call 800-222-TIPS.

A memorial service is being held tomorrow for a St. Louis Park teenager who died in the hospital this week from complications of the flu. 14-year-old Carly Christenson died at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis Tuesday. Services will be held at Westwood Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park, visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Since the begining of the flu season, 27 Minnesotans have died from influenza-related complications, Christenson was the youngest.

Former state Representative Allen Quist won the GOP endorsement for a special election in House District 19-A in southern Minnesota. The St.Peter Republican hopes to win the seat that is being vacated by DFL Representative Terry Morrow. Quist won 85 percent of the vote on the first ballot at Thursday's convention in Mankato. Four Democrats are seeking the DFL nomination for the February 12th election and one Independence Party candidate plans to run.

An East Bethel man was killed in a head-on collision after driving the wrong way down Highway 10 near Hanson Boulevard in Coon Rapids late last night. The 31-year-old wrong way driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a 62-year-old Andover man was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The vicitm's name has not been released. The accident is under investigation.

A high speed chase through Clay and Wilkin Counties continued for more than an hour before a Wilkin County Sheriff's deputy took the fleeing van out with a pit maneuver. Clay County Sheriff's Sergeant Darin Bredman says the driver hit three different sets of stop-sticks. Those slowed him down, but didn't stop him. Bredman says the driver continued, losing tires and proceeding on his rims with sparks flying. Bredman says speeds hit 80 miles-per-hour. The 33-year-old driver is in the Clay County jail facing numerous charges including fleeing a police officer, drunk driving, and no valid license.
