It started snowing in central areas during the night. It’s supposed to end this afternoon. One-to-two inches are expected in central Wisconsin – and the far north-and-northeast could get up to three inches. Forecasters say a couple of other systems could bring us more light snow during the weekend. Then on Monday, cold Canadian air is due in. And National Weather Service says it could get down to 20-below in northwest Wisconsin by early Tuesday morning, with even colder wind-chills.
Highs Monday and Tuesday might not get above zero – but by next Thursday, we could be back above normal as southerly winds move in. Wisconsin Emergency Management has already sounded the alarm about the relatively brief cold spell. They remind you to wear multiple layers, and cover up everything possible to avoid frostbite and hypothermia.
