PRESCOTT - Prescott High School's boys basketball team may not show consistency where it wins its games but they have been very consistent as of late playing shutdown defense as they did against Baldwin-Woodville Friday.

The Cardinals held B-W under 30 points in a 47-29 win which kept them alive in the Middle Border Conference title race only two-back of Somerset and Durand whom they have to play, while pretty much knocking out the Blackhawks who now are 4-4 in the league, 10-4 overall. Prescott is 5-3 in the MBC and 8-3 overall.

The 'Hawks led only very early in the game and 18-17 late in the second quarter before a 5-0 run put PHS ahead at halftime. Prescott held B-W to just 11 points in the second half.

Nick Jacobsen scored 15 points and Mike Brookshaw added 14 to lead the Cardinals in scoring. Mike Hovel finished with seven points.

Prescott has just one game next week at Osceola on Thursday.
