MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Admirals lost to Houston 3-2 last night at the Bradley Center.
Nick Petersen scored the game-winning goal for the Aeros in the second period, just 52 seconds after Austin Watson tied for the game for Milwaukee. Chris Mueller had the Admirals’ other score. Milwaukee continued to struggle during power play opportunities. They’re 0-for-27 in power play scoring chances in the last six games – and the Admirals went 0-4-1-1 during that stretch. Milwaukee ended an eight-game point streak at home, while Houston ended a six-game winless string.

Suburban Milwaukee native Anthony Pettis will take on Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in an Ultimate Fighting event on Saturday night in Chicago. It’s part of a UFC card that will be nationally-televised on Fox – and the network has been hyping up the event, and its presence on free TV. The 25-year-old Pettis is from West Allis. He’s 13-2 in his career – but he has not fought in 11 months, after having a shoulder operation that forced him to sit out for most of the 2012 season. Cerrone is 19-4. The winner could be next in line to challenge U-F-C lightweight champion Benson Henderson.

UW-Superior baseball coach Eddy Morgan will spend this summer managing the Lakeshore Chinooks of the Northwoods League. Morgan was an assistant during the Chinooks’ inaugural season in Mequon last year – and he helped the team go .500 at 35-and-35. Morgan replaces UW-Whitewater coach John Vodenlich, who decided not to manage the Chinooks this year due to his college workload and family obligations.
