Ellsworth grapplers take third at Forest Lake tourney
Ellsworth High School's wrestling team emerged from the Forest Lake Dual Tournament witgh third place finish.
FOREST LAKE, Minn. - Ellsworth High School's wrestling team emerged from the Forest Lake Dual Tournament with third place finish.
The No. 4 ranked Panthers went 1-1 in pool action as they beat Stillwater 51-25 but lost to No. 3 ranked Foley, Minn. 32-27. Ellsworth won the third place match 51-24 over the host Rangers. Minnesot's top prep wrestling team, St. Michael-Albertville, won the tournament 44-12 over Foley.
EHS concludes its regular season with an 11-5 overall record. All of its losses were to ranked opponents(White Bear Lake, Minn., Wausau West, Hudson, Apple Valley, Minn. and Foley). The Panthers will get ready this week to defend its Middle Border Conference title as the MBC meet takes place next weekend in New Richmond.
