ST. LOUIS - St. Louis forward Vladimir Sobotka's overtime tally lifted the Blues past the Wild 5-4 last night in St. Louis.

The Wild scored three second period goals to take a 3-1 lead, but the Blues responded with three straight markers to take a 4-3 lead. Minnesota's Dany Heatley sent the game to overtime with a goal in the third. Zach Parise scored two goals for the Wild, who fell to 2-2-1 on the season, picking up one point in the standings with last night's showing. Niklas Backstrom made 29 saves in the loss. Minnesota is back home tomorrow night for a game against Columbus at the Xcel Energy Center. The puck drops at 7 p.m.

The Houston Aeros ended the first half of the season on a positive note with a 5-2 over the Grand Rapids Griffins over the weekend Houston is now 21-15-4-and-3 on the season. The AHL All-Star Game is tonight in Providence, Rhode Island. Last night, Houston forward Jason Zucker, a top Wild prospect, was first in the West at 13.55 seconds in the Fastest Skater competition and was part of the winning team in the Breakaway Relay at the All-Star Skills Competition. The Aeros are back on the ice on Friday against Texas. The Houston Aeros are the AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild.

The University of Minnesota women's basketball team will have a rare Monday night game this evening when they welcome Illinois to Williams Arena. Minnesota is 13-7 overall and 2-4 in the Big Ten. The Fighting Illini are 10-8 overall and 3-3 in the league. The game tips tonight at 8 p.m.

The annual three-day TwinsFest at the Metrodome is complete. Almost all of the Twins players and coaches took part in the event this year, which saw a drop in attendance from a year ago. Sloppy weather on Sunday may have contributed to a low turnout on the event's final day. Former Twin Eddie Guardado was announced as the newest Twins Hall of Fame inductee. He will go into the Hall on June 14th, along with former Twins Public Relations Director Tom Mee. Twins catcher Joe Mauer says he enjoys TwinsFest because he likes to interact with the fans, who brave cold temperatures to get out to the indoor event.
