June Annette (Jenson) Diley passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Jan. 27.

June Annette (Jenson) Diley passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Jan. 27.

She was born on July 10, 1919, in Saxeville, Wis., the youngest child of Chris and Esther Jenson.

June was preceded in death by her parents and by siblings Winifred, Joyce, Wayne, Hayes, and Bob.

After graduating from Waupaca High School in 1936, June earned a degree in art education at UW-Milwaukee, where she met Foster Wright Diley. They were married on April 3, 1942, and spent 33 incredible years together in the Waupaca area. In addition to teaching, June and Foster ran The Hearth Restaurant, The Fern Terrace Cottages (on the famous Chain o' Lakes), and the Windmill Supper Club before Foster's death in 1975.

June moved to the Twin Cities in 1978 and became a devoted grandmother and active member of Wooddale Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park. She was happiest surrounded by children, animals, art supplies, and anyone who needed a helping hand. Her unwavering open heart and generosity made her a cherished part of the community. In 1991, she moved in with her son's family in Prescott, Wis., and brought her sunshine to even more grandchildren. For 22 years, June treasured her many activities and friendships at Joy Lutheran Church in Prescott.

June lived 93 years, embracing life to the fullest with both the young and old.

June is survived by sons Jay (Nancy), Chris (Lynne), and daughter Esther; grandchildren: Elizabeth Grande (Peter), Jim Diley (Elizabeth); Erik Diley and Anna Diley; two great-grandchildren, June Margaret and Ford Grande; and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Services for June will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Joy Lutheran Church, Prescott. Burial will be at a later date in Waupaca, Wis. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
