UIC edges UWGB men's hoops 60-57

The Phoenix led by two at the break, but UIC opened the second half with a 14-to-4 run to go up by 12. The Phoenix erased that deficit. Alec Brown hit a three-pointer to give Green Bay a three-point lead with 1:41 left – but the Phoenix were held scoreless the rest of the way as Crittle took over. He made a basket and four free throws down the stretch, and scored 15 on the night. Hayden Humes had 18 for Illinois-Chicago, which has now won three straight Horizon League games for the first time in four years.
The Flames, coached by UW-Madison alum and former assistant coach Howard Moore, improved to 5-4 in the conference and 14-8 overall. Keifer Sykes scored 18 for Green Bay, which lost only its second gave in its last seven. The Phoenix dropped to 5-4 in the conference and 14-8 overall. They’ll play at Loyola tomorrow.
