RIVER FALLS - The former home of accused killer Aaron Schaffhausen would be sold by the St. Croix County sheriff’s office later this year if Schaffhausen can’t pay what he owes.
A credit union is owed a little over $181,000 for the property when his three daughters were found murdered last July. Since Schaffhausen is behind bars, it would be difficult for him to make a payment.
That means the property could be sold six months from now. The house was listed at one point for $229,000, but Schaffhausen’s ex-wife contacted the listing agency and complained the suspect could profit from the sale. The listing was removed.
