Union leader claims state corrections department head intimidating employees
Wisconsin News-- The head of the state employees union says it is unfortunate that the secretary of a major agency uses intimidation and threats in communicating with his workers.
MADISON - The head of the state employees union says it is unfortunate that the secretary of a major agency uses intimidation and threats in communicating with his workers.
Marty Bell is referring to an e-mail Wisconsin Corrections Secretary Ed Wall sent to department employees the day before he was confirmed to the position. Wall warned those workers they could be fired for spreading false or malicious information about the department.
Wall followed up with a second e-mail last Thursday saying he wants to treat the agency more like a family and less like what he calls a “bureaucratic coffee grinder.” A spokesperson for the new secretary says he places a high value on communicating directly with employees and he welcomes feedback from them.
