Wild lose second straight

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Phoenix goalie Mike Smith made 32 saves to lead the Coyotes to a 2-1 win over the visiting Minnesota Wild.

Martin Hanzal and Lauri Korpikoski each lit the lamp for Phoenix. It was the fourth goal of the season for each. The 'Yotes won their second straight to move to 4-4-2. Zach Parise scored his sixth goal of the year for Minnesota. Niklas Backstrom halted 21 shots in the defeat. The Wild have lost two straight to fall to 4-4-1. Minnesota hosts Vancouver on Thursday night.

The Wild acquired forward Mike Rupp from the New York Rangers yesterday in exchange for forwards Darroll Powe and Nick Palmieri. Rupp has posted 53 goals and 41 assists in 10 NHL seasons. He has not registered a point in nine games this year.
