Badgers sign top-ranked quarterback/receiver
Wisconsin Sports-- University of Wisconsin football coach Gary Andersen has recruited a quarterback for this fall’s recruiting class. Tanner McEvoy gave his verbal commitment to the Badgers.
MADISON - University of Wisconsin football coach Gary Andersen has recruited a quarterback for this fall’s recruiting class. Tanner McEvoy gave his verbal commitment to the Badgers over the weekend.
He signed with the University of South Carolina, where he redshirted for a year before transferring to Arizona Western College last year. Scouts say the 6-6 McEvoy is both a solid passer and runner and he has the athletic ability to play wide receiver as well. He joins a UW squad which is deep at quarterback but not as deep at the wide receiver spot.
He’s expected to have three years of eligibility when he joins the UW for its pre-season camp in August. McEvoy chose the Badgers over Oregon and Florida. |
National signing day is tomorrow where UW will finalize its 2013 recruiting class, Andersen's first as UW's new head coach.
