Village Board had busy agenda in closed session
The Ellsworth Village Board spent much of Monday’s monthly meeting in closed session, dealing with a variety of topics, including the wastewater treatment plant’s renovation, the East End Industrial Park, TID No. 10 district and the proposed assisted living facility.
The Ellsworth Village Board spent much of Monday’s monthly meeting in closed session, dealing with a variety of topics, including the wastewater treatment plant’s renovation, the East End Industrial Park, TID No. 10 district and the proposed assisted living facility.
Coming out of closed session, trustees took the following actions:
--The board agreed to authorize Village Attorney Bob Loberg to draft a letter to Rice Lake Construction Company’s attorney concerning the project, the agreement for professional services and final invoices.
--The board authorized Village President Gerald DeWolfe to enter into developer’s agreements with Pierce County Meats, Inc., and Langer’s Lawn Care to develop land for commercial purposes in the East End Industrial Park.
--The board also authorized DeWolfe to sign an addendum to the developer’s agreement with the developers of the planned assisted living facility off Hwy. 65 after review by Attorney Loberg.
The board did not take action on the TID No. 10 after receiving an update on it in closed session.
In other action from Monday’s meeting, the board adopted an amendment to the Solid Waste and Recycling Ordinance. The amendment updates the ordinance showing now PIG (Paul’s Industrial Garage) of Hager City has the village contract for recycling and waste removal from the village.
The board heard reports from the Ellsworth Fire Association, the Ellsworth Ambulance Service and the Ellsworth Library Board. Trustees also heard a report on the most recent Ellsworth Building Committee meeting on Jan. 14, reviewing how River Falls was able to build its library and community center.
